Liner question.

Hello

I recieved some pictures today of an original M42 heer helmet.
Everything looks good nothing too special, nice original in good condition liner but there is something I haven't seen before. Do you see the circles that are slightly pressed in the liner? Anybody saw that before?

I saw that one to on e-bay. The liner looks good. The felt behind it looks original too. I have never seen those circles before. They dont make sense. I took a good look at that helmet, and decided not to bid. A few things I didn't like.
