Panzer Officer Visor, unit designation?

I recently bought this Panzer Officer visor from Detlev and I am trying to find out what the unit designation is under the sweat band 2./Pz R. 7 Obviously 7th Regiment.

A nice visor indeed; normally, the unit gepruft stamp would indicate that this was originally an enlisted man's visor, which has subsequently been upgraded to an officer's visor. No way of knowing if this happened during the war or after, and not the end of the world in any event.

A very fine cap!

If it is definitely not an upgrade then it may have been purchased
while the owner was an anwarter in anticipation of officer status.

It's in perfect condition - still serviceable but with plenty of wear.
Loads of character!

Hello Marty,
The 7th Rgt was attached to the 10th Panzer Division. Destroyed in Tunisia May, 1943.
Beautiful officer's hat and nice addition to have those 7th Rgt boards!

I once owned a medal grouping and uniform that belonged to a Hauptmann of Gebersjaeger. His officer visor hat. was marked in a similar fashion. The hat was also not an upgrade from an other ranks hat.

I thought this stamp was to show that the "private purchase" visor was accepted by the unit...what is the correct answer? I have seen these stamps on NCO visors as well, therefore not upgraded to Officer in these cases.
