Hi guys,
I am thinking about putting this helmet on the e-stand but wanted to have some opinions about it first. It is an M35 SE64 DD helmet with only little portions of both decals present. It is named and numbered. It has liner and chinstrap present in wich I believe original configuration. I believe this because they are both in the same condition and there is a nice dust buildup between liner band and shell. The rivets are completely stripped but when I look in the helmet they look like they never been touched so I think the liner was never out the helmet. The helmet is named to Pranschke and the feldpostnumber is 13459C. I researched the helmet and came up with this history (I am still in the proces of finding more about the soldier):
The helmet first belonged to a SS-unit in Danzig, which fused directly before the beginning of World War 2 with a SA-unit and a group of police officers into the „Danziger Infanterie Regiment 1“(1st Danziger infantry regiment). The regiment was divided into two battalions on August 14th, 1940. According to the number of the owner of this helmet it belonged to the „2. Schützen–Regiment 394“ (2nd riflemen–regiment 394). This new regiment was under the „3. Panzer–Division“ (3rd tank–division) which belonged on his part to the „60. Infanterie–Division“(60th infantry–divsion) in France. This unit was dissolved on December 22nd, 1944.
Any opinions more then welcome on this helmet! Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Benjamin
