Blood Soaked Luft Helmet | How Did It Get There?

I just recently obtained this helmet and it seems as if a large pool of blood is underneath the liner, the liner was also soaked in blood and also has splatter, the brim also has collected a pool of blood. How did this happen if the helmet is nearly perfect and does not have damage? I am almost positive this is blood, but was hoping to gather some opinions. Also, any reference on where I can find info on this soldier? I cannot find anything after hours of me searching.

Many different scenarios when it come to blood trauma imo, guy gets hit in head by stone shrapnel let's say when his helmet is blown off his head gets a quick patch up by mate, puts helmet back on as the action is still on going etc etc. I myself see no problems with a bloody liner and no signs of damage to the shell

It just fits the pattern with the rest of the helmet. Underneath the liner, to the spot missing on the liner, the liner, then the brim.

Nothing on Ancestry and nothing in the Volksbund on him so if it is blood, whatever caused it probably did not kill him.

The staining on the liner tongue certainly looks like a blood stain, however the missing part of the liner looks more to me like rodent nibbling. With all of the crime in Chicago Mike you should certainly be able to get your hands on a do-it-yourself forensics kit to test it for blood evidence. I'm half joking. I'm from Chicago too and it breaks my heart to see what that place has turned into

Not your case, but some people believe that every blood stain in the helmet means "KIA". The black Verwundetenabzeichen was handed out a minimum of 2.5 million times. Still, I like the effort of checking the soldier that wore it.
The soldier was a Flak soldier, Obergefreiter and the number tells us that he served in 5. Batterie schwere Flak-Abteilung 634.

I agree it could be any type of bodily fluid. It could be soup or food juice. A liquid protein of some kind other than blood Love the FPN.
