    M17 Austian SD

hey, I can buy this helmet for less than 600euro, but first I'dd like an opinion of the helmet experts .

It was a DD but the tri-collor shield is removed. The thing I also like is that they didn't put dark green 1940 paint on it .

    cheers Sander

        Hi Sander ,
I see no problem on this one (for the price it's up to you)
For the rivets, watch if it's a replacement but i already saw this difference in color with the shell on these helmets and for the 7 inside leather tongues , may be the combination size/end of leather piece ?

Np with that one ...concerning the blue rivets, these are supposed to be "textbook" for transitional DD's, no?

          Cheers

That is a correct configuration for this type of helmet, ie the dark rivet heads and the later war liner. Here is one in the DD configuration. To the best of my knowledge, these are always Austrian shells on these helmets. The removed tri color reduces the value, but typically in the DD configuration these go for $1200 or so...

I don't know if it's a rule but i also noticed this Andy (Austrian shell /rivets/late liner) and i'll add they also had the same decals

Francis, I agree. These Austrian shells typically have grey lined Heer decals.
