Thanks all for your reply.Some few helmets and equipement were found in this area but not by me .The history of the 18 ss btl at Thiers in France is in severals books and known by a lot of collectors but it's very very hard and difficult to find something.

To my knoleage you can find much more stuff from veterans in Canada then in France, or at least then where I live. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Indeed a very nice one.
If I am not wrong there was an article published on Militaria Magazine which dealt with the last days and the surrender of the unit in question.
I will look if I can find it.
