The WSS M40, is a very rare piece. If you are interested in acquiring a WSS helmet, authentic to WW2, I would strongly suggest you buy Kelly Hicks SS Steel asap.

The WSS M40 you presented has major issues with both decals. For me, the most glaring is the large white circle backing the swastika on the partially scraped off decal.

The medical helmet has wear, but not in the areas that it should be. Any wear appears contrived post war.

The ss helmet comes out of a more than twenty year old collection,and is believed to be an authentic piece,why you guys have doubts on this piece,just for the white swastika area??


I have shown this piece to several collectors,and they all believe it to be an original piece...

The SS decal is known fake.
P.S. "twenty" years ago was only 1985, A lot of stuff was faked in the 80's.
