I suggest someone puting a picture of a real one and this one side by side for Alex. Differences are difficult to see unless you have inspected a real one.

You gotta be kidding me that if the Seller knew this to be what he purports why didnt he ask for an opening bid of say, US$2,000??? Even a mushroom knows that a real SS helmet would be worth at least $2,000 in any condition.For me, this alone SCREAMS alarm!!!! C'mon, a serious dose of commonsense is required. As stated, do some research before getting all SS-eyed and jumping in, will save you money in the long-term.

First- thanks for jumping in at the end...on the naysayer bandwagon, sure adds a lot to the discussion. You gotta be kidding me too, to get on your high horse like this. Plenty of good helmets start at low bids...and end up near their market value, and you know this.

Unlike some on this thread, Ty has offered some useful constructive ideas...that I'm sure some of those quiet ones lurking and watching and learning would appreciate, along with their books on the matter.
