Buy the piece, not the story...

well, a friend bought a story and the piece, but for EUR20 it was not bad. I have a friend who collects Fallshirmjaeger and has contacts to the local associations. One of the ex Fallschirmjaeger men brought him this helmet and took a EUR20 for it. he mentioned it was from Dresden and had been badly burned.

Its pretty much in Relic condition, the paint suffered badly from the fire, but the rust is mostly surface rust.

Is there any realistic way of putting a value on a helmet like this? Condition is obviously bad, i am sure it would have been rare, and the story, ... well, you can take it or leave it. I tend to believe it as the old guy wasnt really interested in the whole affair anyway....

If its from Dresden its probably haunted ,I would say £50+ because of the decal .Rob.

Ahhh, but a HAUNTED Helmet usually goes for GBP500+ on ebay !!!!

I had a helmet like this in VG condition (and i knew another) found in Brittany ,always insignas were painted .
