German M35 Q64 particular shape .

a friend owns this particular Q64 helmet.
What explanation should be given to this particular shape ?

I believe these are reissued german helmet cut down and used by the Norwegian postwar.

Yes the shape is very close to M38.

Looks like a biker modification so they can see when cranking their neck around to me but that’s just my observation it’s not based on any actual knowledge!

Agree with Jorn, Imperial models (M16/17/18) can also be found with this post-war modification.
