    Italo-Turkish War 1911-1912 Medal

The Italo-Turkish or Turco-Italian War (Turkish: Trablusgarp Savaşı, "Tripolitanian War"; also known in Italy as Guerra di Libia, "Libyan War") was fought between the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Italy from September 29, 1911, to October 18, 1912. As a result of this conflict, Italy captured the Ottoman Tripolitania Vilayet (province), of which the most notable sub-provinces (sanjaks) were Fezzan, Cyrenaica, and Tripoli itself. These territories together formed what became known as Italian Libya.

          Hallo Ron

Nice commemorative medal of the Italian-Turkish War (1911-1912)
It was in an unique class, of bronze and engraved with the legend: ITALIAN-TURKISH WAR 1911-1912. It was granted to the «Royal Army military personnel, to the Royal Colonial troops, and to non-military personnel assigned to mobilized troops also, who actually landed in Libya or in territory dependent from the Ottoman Empire (...), [to] military and civilian personnel of the Royal Navy boarded (...) or landed (...), for war-related operations, [to] militarized personnel (…) assigned to mobilized troops and who actually landed for reasons of war »
(Royal Decree of November 21, 1912, No. 1342, article 5, with which a commemorative medal of the Italo-Turkish War was established, in the Kingdom Official Gazette n. 305 of December 28. It was abolished by the decree of the President of the Republic of December 13, 2010, No. 248.

Not to be confused with the commemorative medal of the Campaigns of Libya (1912-1931) which was virtually identical ecept fot the inscription Libia.
It was granted to the personnel specified in art. 5 of the royal decree November 21, 1912, n. 1342, letter a): soldiers of the Royal Army and of the Royal Colonial troops, and non-military personnel assigned to mobilized troops, who actually landed in Libya or in territory dependent from the Ottoman Empire, for operations pertaining to the war, and c: militarized personnel dependent from other Ministries or belonging to other Corps or auxiliary departments, assigned to the mobilized troops, who actually landed in Libya or in territory dependent from the Ottoman Empire for reasons of war, and in art. 1, letter a), no. 2 of the Royal Decree October 6, 1911, n. 1112, art. 1, letter a) no. 2): personnel of the Royal Navy who eventually landed in the territories of the enemy State for reasons of war, who for the first time have served on land in Libya or in the Aegean after October 1912 or have to lend it later, until the end of the state of war in those localities.
(Royal Decree September 6, 1913, No. 1144, single article, with which some personnel of the Royal Army and Royal Navy were authorized to wear the commemorative medal created with the Royal Decree November 21, 1912, No. 1342, bearing however in the verse the motto "Libia", in the Kingdom Official Gazette of October 4, 1913, no. 231. It was abolished by the decree of the President of the Republic of December 13, 2010, No. 248).

          Best regards
