I would appreciate any help with identifying this pullover summer weight jacket.
This has been in my collection for many years and I was never certain of its origins. I bought it as a Bulgarian summer weight jacket. But the manufacture of it leaves me in some doubt, it is made of an 'oatmeal' coloured raw linen with German type tinned fly buttons in the front and German uniform buttons on the shoulder straps. The straps have three stripes on each made of German grey-blue rank material. There is a black paint stamp under a shoulder strap that I do not recognise (I had once thought it was Bulgarian - but not so sure now). Another stamp is in the lower rear middle back, II 1942 above a Cyrillic figure in a shield.
A friend suggested it was part of the uniform for Eastern Volunteers, but I suspect not.
I can see no other markings and no hint of any German size stamps.
