    Hi guys I know zero on Italian helmets so any help appreciated, I just got this m33 the seller told me it was brought back by an intelligence officer in 5th us army it came also with a sand camo fj lid which bill Shea got from same vets family allegedly these were brought back from monte cassino

    under the black paint at front there appears to be a stencil in red/orange

            Nice find!

            The only thing I do not like about this helmet are the flat hammered rivets that hold the liner ring in the shell.
            Could you please post a couple of picture of the prongs of the rivets seen from the inside of the shell.

                          Yes they are.

                          There are traces of repaint (other shade of paint+paint runner) and of manipulation on the rivet prongs + 2 flat hammered rivets.
                          This means the liner ring was reinstalled at a point.
                          When? This is another question.
                          However, back in 1944 or '45 when they had to repair a broken liner, I think they had better things to than repainting the rivet prongs.

                          Nevertheless a nice and very interesting helmet, despite the reinstalled liner ring.
