Tank or Artillery Insignia??

Good evening gents,

A friend of mine has this patch and thinks it is either German or Russian. I convinced him it's neither, but I'm unsure what country it is from.

The material and needle work look Italian to me. Can you tell me if I'm correct and also what exactly the insignia is?

Hello Waffenreich nice badge !...l have a similar badge on a Italian M42 cap to the Carristi Carri Armati tank troops !..so i would say its a variation of this !?...Semovente

Yes ..you would think it to be something like that !..the usual badge having a flaming grenade over the crossed cannons with the tank below !..but thats how it came out from a veterans estate in the US !...Semovente
