Need Help: Trench Art Anchor from Battleship Roma?

Hello! I have an object that needs the critic's look. The seller claims that this is trench art related to the battleship Roma. It was launched in 1940 and it bears the name of the shipyard, so there's a chance that this artifact could've been made by a worker.

It's about 8 inches and its an anchor.

What do you guys think about it? Do you think its genuine? The problem with trench art is that it could've been easily made in the modern era...unlike older official pieces.

    Thanks!

I think that this is not trench art but a gadget made by the shipyard.
    Interesting piece, however.

Oh! That makes it a bit more special.

What do you suppose it is?

Do you also think its period-authentic?

Souvenir item probably sold or maybe given away by the shipyard etc to the public at the launch which as you pointed out was in 1940 !..so that ties in with the date on it nicely !?..or it even given to members of the workforce who built the vessel ?...but nice item all the same...

Wait...this is a ship launching souvenir? Just to be discerning, how do you know this is a ship launching souvenir and not trenc art made in 1940? Wouldn’t the Italians have made nicer items (though...to be fair...I have never seen Regis Marina ship launching items)?

What do you mean for "trench art"? I think of an object made with scrap metal and assembled by hand on free time by a expert worker.
Here we have an industrial object with the name of a shipyard, probably given to a limited number of selected persons to remember the launch of a ship.

                That's a very good point.
