Hello SL320 & thanks for the additional photos !..it would seem to be as already pointed out a better grade of Bustina ! ...so from this it was originaly thought that it might be possible a officers hat !?..but as already observed by Tankredi no sign of any rank stars etc !?..perhaps its original owner was just well heeled !?..or on first name terms with the quartermaster !.. ...but its still a very nice item..Last edited by Semovente; 03-14-2018, 12:36 PM.

hello
many thank for your comments
Why do you say it is a better quality bustina?
It has been made in the normal italian panno Ortica with clear signs of wear in the exposed parts and has the external stitches slightly discolored, tending to white.
In the inner side has the classic liner and classic band.
No trace of ranks.
I like this MVSN side cap.

That bustina is an m 35 of a late production and probably, made by a poor maker...
I have seen a great variety in the EM bustine, very nice and very poor, with short visor and longer visor, dome made in classical two pieces or made in only one or even in four pieces.
Indeed I have other EM bustine exactly like the MILMART posted. I have poor made EM bustine too

I am completly agree with you. That Milmart is a correct EM bustina.
Yes there where different grades of quality in the production of Italian uniform.
This was due to the presence of different makers and surely the worst quality detected in construction and cutting of fabrics was present in those uniforms built by the common inmates. During the war civil prisoners were forced to this work, but evidently they did not put much effort into it.
Here are some examples of bustine.
good quality
minor quality
in the upper bustina we can see that even the band liner is missing
