    Ww2 ??

    Morning Gents !...please could members give their expert opion on this battered ski cap !... WW2 or post war ??...i personaly think post War...Semovente

    More pics some sort of tape has been added round the sweat band to keep it together !

      More...the liner has had a diamond lable but long gone !...the caps cloth is course grey stuff !..the front buttons are some type of horn !?..it has an age , but i dont like the peaks trim !...

        Well i take it back about the peaks trim ! ?...found this pic of a H .Jugend ski cap with just such a peak !!!...😮

          The visor trimming of the 2-button cap appear to be of some sort of plastic, you should check what material is. I can also barely see some plastic between the liner and the inner edge of the bill. Wartime ski/mountain/field cap would normally not have a sweatshield which, on the contrary, is customary on postwar West German cloth caps. Be advised that caps like yours (with plastic buttons, horn buttons or a buckle) have been a popular style of headgear in Germany both during the Third Reich and for decades postwar.

            Yes i agree & i dont like it any way Marco !.. plus its not mine as i have it on loan from a fellow collector to try and establish if its first of all wartime (which i doubt too !.)..and secondly what or who would have worn it ?...so yes i think your very right Marco thank you !...
