This is a rarely seen Dutch WWII-period, so-called: ‘Next of Kin’-plaque ('NJS-Ere-plaquette') as was handed-out to the next-of-kin- ie. family of NJS (or: ‘Nationale Jeugdstorm’) members who had been KIA on the Eastern Front (while serving as volunteers within the Waffen-SS ie. the 'Frw. Leg. Niederlande').
These table-medals show an (enamelled NJS honorary-badge (‘NJS Eredraagteken’) and bear the engraved (Dutch) inscription: ‘Hij gaf in Gods vertrouwen alles voor het Vaderland’ (which can be freely translated ‘In Gods trust he gave everything for the fatherland’ or alike).
The medal in my collection was given to the next-of kin of an NJS- (and NSB) member (ie. ‘Stormer’) named: J. Pot, who was KIA on 10 April 1942 , aged barely 18.
These attractive table-medals were only disseminated at a VERY limited scale and I personally know only a few other existing examples to date (5 orso).
I would be most interested in learning if more examples are in collections to date and would naturally be VERY interested in aquiring them for my own personal collection.
Thanking you in advance for your kind reactions!
Best regards,
Coco
