    Yes. it is.

I think for the pith helmet because the regiment was destroyed in Tobruk on 1941.

    Best regards

It looks very nice. Is it a battlefield bring back? Italian badges are very interesting because they are unit specific, unlike German badges.

            Hi Jean,
There is no doubt it’s a battlefield trophy
I was fascinated to easily research the history of it thanks to this forum!
            Kind regards Chay

Simply googling is often a good start for Italian units.
Italian ID tags are also way underestimated IMO. They can be researched very easily as the soldier's hometown is included, copies of the soldier's military file can often be obtained, and there are lists of medal awardees on the internet. All this makes for very interesting potential research and finds.
I always smile when I see Italian ID tags being frowned upon. For all you know it is a Folgore paratrooper who was awarded the MAVM, but you didnt even spend 5 minutes trying to find out. Or a guy who was at Stalingrad.

                      ...

                      hello people ,

I am totally with JL about it been here since years now and my beginning was DAK , I've had the pleasure to keep in touch with some of the most kind guys here ... ready to teach me a lot ; after 3 years I've turned into Colonial Italian headgears not because I am italian but because DAK was becoming boring !!! no sense add sidecaps just because there were different makers ... 99% of the italian headgears tells you a whole story about the unit , you can track battles and commanders and much more .
Under a collecting point of view if now I want buy i.e. a german sidecap with Waffenfarbe original I think I can get dozens through dealer sites and collectors , same if I want spend some few K for a FJ helmet ... it's all about a question of money ... try to buy an italian parà helmet or a legit italian colonial sidecap , none on the market .

                      just my 2 cents

                      Paolo
