Dear all,
I just wanted to share a recent find: it is a single collar-tab that belonged to a member of the 'Lijfwacht van de Leider' / 'Mussert-Garde' (being a very small-sized unit which specific task was to guard the Dutch NSB-leader Anton Mussert).
The piece is quite 'roughly-made'- and is constructed from black-coloured-, felt-like wool having a copper-based 'Lijfwacht van de Leider'-cypher attached.
The unit comprised just of a couple of dozen men and its insignia are exceedingly rare: the tab shown might well be (one of) the only surviving examples (I do NOT know of another example).
I already had in my private collection a period-picture that shows a similar collar-tab being worn (which photo I also attached to this thread).
I would be MOST interested in hearing some comments and/or learning about other 'Lijfwacht van de Leider' / 'Mussert-Garde'-related insignia that are in collections to date.
Thanking you in advance!
Best regards,
Coco
