    WW2 pilot uniform

At last completed it!!! /the missing couple of buttons just arrived!/ A WW2 Bulgarian AF Colonel, I think the uniform is model 1941. Only missing the small crowned letter B on the chest butterfly... well, nothing is perfect... Here, isn't it a beauty!!!!!!:

          that's from the SS-division "Nuthousen"

Here is another "project", but still far, far behind. That's the M1936 uniform, but still needs all effects less the pocket buttons and one of the big buttons. Not easy to complete, have it already for maybe more than 2 years, but still no collar or shoulder tabs and the buttonms coming at speed one per year...

Another set to be completed is the light blue M41, but for it still have only the breeches and hat without the emblem... But the fun is in the hunt!

Wonderful uniform! I know how hard it is to find buttons as I have been looking for a SPARS blue one for at least ten years.

              Great Job, Theodor

I also know how hard it is to complete these things. I don't even have the 1941 jacket to start yet. And if you find a stash of those Boris 'B's, I need one as well. I will have to post images of some of the other Bulgarian items I have or send pics to you directly.

              Cheers,

              Tod

                What did you start with?

So we can get an idea of what a job this was, can you describe what you started with and how you put this tunic together? How you came across the different items?

                Thanks,

                Tod

Hi Tod, of course I'll keep you in mind if come across the B, that's not impossible, from time to time appear whole lots of pieces, left from the old workshops. Buttons, cyphers, etc, unfortunately nothing AF so far.

The green uniform had come to a dealer without any insignia and he had decorated it as infantry officer uniform /maybe never knew it had been AF/. So, I started it from nothing... and still have reachen nowhere

The blue uniform was a much better start. It came almost complete, only missing a couple of buttons /which were found surprisingly fast/ and without shoulder boards. But I already had a couple of boards for some time, I think they are unsuitable for the M36, but exactly the ones needed for the M41. Unfortunately, being moth-bitten, they are a little in contrast with the quite mint uniform, but they'll be there until better are found. Very good that its original collar tabs were untouched, because they seem to be the most difficult part to find!
So, it is not exactly untouched, I had to add a couple of things - the boards and a couple of buttons, but still I lllllove it

                    WW2 Bulgarian pilot uniform

Theodor, I hope you don't mind if I post a few Bulgarian WW2 Pilot uniforms on your thread. It would help to round out the many variations of WW2 Bulgarian Air Force uniforms that were worn during the war.

WW2 Bulgarian summer khaki tan color Air Force tunic. Rank of Captain, King Boris period with pants. Color of tunic is like that of tropical tunics.
