Hello its a very nice MVSN blackshirts membership i.d. card to the 20th legion.. ..the MVSN was the fascist partys strong arm and its black shirts when not involved in Italys internal matters fought in all the main areas of conflict that Italys armed forces were involved in up till 1943 when it was replaced by the GNR...Semovente

                Hallo Byzanti

I confirm you that during the Second World War, the 20th Anti-aircraft Artillery Legion of the MVSN (MACA) of Bari was part of the 5th Legions' Group of Naples. This corresponds to the place of birth of the 1st class (a sort of lance-corporal in the US Army) black shirt, holder of this recognition document, the town of Ceglie Messapica which is very close to Bari and also with the two-pointed black flames, piped with the yellow-orange thread. The personnel was, as in our case, also made up of old-aged men and war veterans, not fit for the units mobilized at the front. As for the identification of the owner, you can try to write to the Comune, where some relatives can probably still reside or search patiently them through the telephone directory of the Province of Brindisi of which Ceglie Messapica is part of, even though this last name seems fairly widespread in that geographic area. Not a KIA, at least from the research-engine of the italian Ministry of Defense:

Last but not least resource, send a letter to the Centro Documentale dell'Esercito of Piazza Luigi di Savoia Duca degli Abruzzi, 4, 70121 Bari. Phone no. 080 524 0785.

                Good luck & best regards
