    Out of a collection of German medals,I came across a couple of Star Badges,One is brass with bendable tabs and the other is an aluminum star with a screw back marked Sacconaghi Corbetta,The only reference on the whole internet is in your Forum.     If yes, it is simply a five-pointed star for the collar of an enlisted jacket. The couple for sale on that website has been misidentified for General’s rank stars because of their silver colour.

      The star in brass with bendable tabs is probably for the officer ranks on the shoulder straps. In this case it must be knurled and with hollow back side. With regards to the fixing system, it belongs probably to the Republican period. Just an example:

        The brass starr has the pin backs but ont the rounded center,The siver star has a screw back marked sacconaghi corbetta,,Thank you for your help ,Mark
