Blankets "1939 El Guerre" - spanish civil war?

Hello, got those 2 blankets from an attic. Both same, thick blue wool with 2 stripes in them and marked "1939 El Guerre". If it was one I would have said home made, but both identical so definately not a once-off home work.
El Guerre and 1939 would lead me in the direction of the spanish civil war, but I might be totally wrong.
Anybody knows those blankets or has an idea, or at least an opinion?

Hello, I think it's not a spanish blanket. French?

      regards

        In Spanish: la guerra.
        In French: la guerre.

Neither of these match the blanket...

And what if the G is indeed a C?

          Cuerre
This word exists in Astuarian language.

they could look like swiss blankets, but the writing is something else. They seem to be an official (not home made) item. Quite tricky ;-)
