Hello all....I thought some members might be interested in this photograph of an Italian Para wearing the collars badges and para mag carrier....for those who had not seen it before.....

Thanks for posting the photo. This does not appear to be an Italian Paratrooper. He is not wearing a Para tunic nor is the helmet a standard Para type. As said previously, the Samurai was worn by other units as well as Paratroopers. To find a Samurai is to find the "Holy Grail" of Italian field equipment.

For your information this soldier was in the Battaglione "M" IX settembre, during RSI period , you can see it very clear by the M ( tha means Mussolini) with the fascio on the collar, it was an infantry unit

Both the photos represent an M milit of the Btg IX Settembre, whose unit has been deployed on 1944 on the Umbrian/Adriatic sector of Italy, against the partisans. He's wearing an issue 'Samurai' for the magazines of the MAB38 smg.
