Gents ..just been lookin at thread on three pouch M39 back pack ??..is it wartime etc..i have this pack that i have owned some years now that i understood to be a M42..that replaced the M39 small pack !...i notice some fittings on it are similar to the three pouch pack in the other thread..ie buckles etc...so just wondering what thoughts are on it ??...cheers Semovente.

Your M39 borsa tattica is legit. Unlike the other pack, the change from leather to web straps is well documented. It was a wartime austerity measure. Besides that change, the design and construction remained the same. The M29 zaino a borsa per armi a cavallo underwent the same changes.
