Italian ground found medal - what is it?

I bought a bunch of dug up Croatian stuff from WW2 and found one medal which I couldn't identify. Looking at the shape and figures I started to think it might be Italian? Any ideas what this is?

    Cheers,

    Timo

.Not an official italian military medal, that's sure.
Maybe it's not even italian. It's very hardly legible, but seems the german word "Treue" is present on the reverse.

      Hallo battlerelic

I agree with ironcrown: a religious medallion probably belonged to a Catholic German; on the front side seems to be depicted the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus and two angels at the sides. If it was dug up from the ground, I hope it does not come from a mass grave.

Can we see the rest of the material?

      Best regards

Thanks guys. The loop reminded Italian medals, so I figured it might be Italian, but now I know better.

I bought the medal together wit these other ground found relics from German eBay. I have no idea where and when they were found.

          Hallo battlerelic

In my opinion, the most interesting piece is the wounded medal (Ranjenicka kolajna).

The medal has a diameter of 32 mm. Established on April 8, 1943 "to honor the defenders of the homeland who were injured during the fight with the enemy." In an order of June 25, 1943, were set the conferment criteria, the way of wearing the medal and the various models of it:
The right to wear the wounded medal was expected to the wounded military personnel in service of the NDH armed forces; to the injured members of the Croatian state and of the government institutions, who had suffered their injuries from enemy weapons during the performance of their duties; to all other NDH citizens, who had resisted the enemy and consequently were wounded. For the award of the medal were considered only wounds and injuries caused by enemy weapons, in combat or in connection with the fight, and not the wounds to his guilt. Illnesses or accidents that occurred on the field of battle, but without connection with the fight, were therefore not taken into account. Even members of the German & Italian armed forces, wounded while fighting alonside the Croatian armed forces or in the territory of the Independent State of Croatia, were entitled to the medal.
The Wounded Medal had two degrees:
          - Gold Medal (forged of alloy with a high percentage of zinc, and gold plated) for the wounded with 61% disability or more, and for those killed in action
          - Iron Medal (zinc alloy) for the wounded with 60% disability.
The ribbon bore one or more blue stripes (with a superimposed gilt oak wreath for further wounds) according to the number of wounds.

          best regards
