Hallo, this is my last Italian Pith helmet new entry in my collection; coming directly from the veteran house. It has insigna of 116^ Legion CCNN "ALPINA", part of 2th Division CCNN "28 Ottobre" , fighting 'in the stages of the Ethiopian campaign 1935-1936.
The helmet has a very nice patina and there are some writing done in pencil: one shows a name: Maurizio and under ..."4-1-1936" ... while at the back is the word "Tembien" .
The first battle of Tembien was an armed confrontation of the Ethiopian war which saw a determined attempt to break through the Italian front by the troops of the Abyssinian Ras Kassa, framed Ethiopian army.....
I think this is a nice piece of history..........and thank you for you opinions !!
