At the begining of the formation, they used Italian carabinieri uniforms, and later - official uniform was a standard police M43 uniform.

I agree the Slovenian Home Guard/security forces wore Italian uniforms early on and later during the German period they switched to SchuPo combat wool uniforms in polizei green.

Just to make some historic background...

Italian and German period, if you want to call it that way, were two completely different situations as far as the nature of Slovenian anti partisan (anti communist) forces is concerned. It was not a matter of "switching" to some other formation, is was a completely new formation.

During Italian occupation, Village guards, Legion of Death, Slovenian National Legion, Slovenian Chetniks were mainly operating as a defense units, formed and established because of the partisan violence towards non communist citizens and farmers...

After capitulation of Italy, Slovenian Home Guard Legion was formed, completely Slovenian, and after that, because the Germans knew that it is necessary that they keep the civil war in Slovenia going, they unconditionally only allowed the formation of Slovenian Home Guard as a collaboration formation...

So it is very complex how the formations of different combat formations in Slovenia evolved, on both sides. At the end, we know, that all of them were just a product of some higher degree which only worked for the goal of taking over the command and power of Slovenia and also Yugoslavia. That is the communist and offcourse the Germans.

In the process we got lost in the civil war, brothers killing brothers during and sadly also after the war ended.

Thank you for recapping Slovenia’s situation at that time, the complex history of Jugoslavia in WW2 being clear only to locals and to the few foreigners who bother studying it.
However, question was about the uniform of Policijski varnostni zbor. Alternation of Italian and/or German outfits seems attributable mostly to NSVZ, Bela Garda, Vaška straža and the like. Looking forward to more info and pics on that obscure service .

Just to be clear - Policijski Varnostni Zbor was a part of Slovensko Domobranstvo (Slovenian Home Guard).
