    Big lot of Italian ww2 dogtags

    Here are the ww2 dogtags of italian soldiers found in Zadar. Lot consists of maybe 50 pcs. They were found in the gravel on the sea coast while we were looking for antique coins.

    I would like to sell them. Is there anybody that can tell me what would be the price per piece or for the whole lot?

    They were found in Zadar(Zara) so they probably belonged to members of 158. and other divisions that were located there.

    We have found lots of other insignia too, particularly related to Zara and Dalmazia but they are not for sale right now.

          Speaking for the "US market" only, Italian ID tags usually don't bring much more the $25.00 each.... and those would be for ones in "good condition". Most of these are "relic" condition so I doubt they'd bring more than $5.00/10.00 each, maybe alittle more for the better ones, less for the really damaged ones....

          I'd either group 5 or 6 together as a lot, or wait until the "other insignia" are available for sale and make grouping with "them"... depending of course what this stuff is & what they looks like.

          Nice find, certainly, can't wait to see the other insigna.

              I agree.
              Nice relics, but don't expect to make much money on them.
              The only italian dogtags that seem to have a value are those from the MIA soldiers of the russian front. Russian diggers use to sell them on Ebay from time to time and prices go around 30-40 Usd, sometime even more. I just wonder what happens to the remains, if they are found with the tags

              But in this case, the names I can read on the dogtags don't belong to MIA / KIA soldiers.

                Some information about Ermes Ferretti from Reggio Emilia:

                captured by the Germans on 13 September 1943 in Zara;
                held in Sebenico prison camp;
                released by Tito's partisans on 1 April 1945.

                    Great find.
                    If you sell these, you should take a photo of each tag or a list of the names, as I am sure some local historians would like to do more in depth research on this find. I know I would if such tags were found in my area.
