    Odd Italian Dagger Hangers Help

    Hi All,

Have a bad feeling about these. There is no makers mark stamped on the back side of the leather. Looks like the eagle was glued on.?

    Thoughts?

I believe these are repros. I had a couple sets of these some time back and they did not look this set.

I know lots of Italians who had problems with old hangers.

IMO definately reproduction hangers.... however, "for diplay purposes" I'd say better than "not hangers"..... many Italian Daggers are missing hangers, and original hangers are very pricey when they turn up loose.... (I have a set of Repro dress hangers on my only Fascist dagger- myself!- and can "live with it").

If I was a serious Dagger specialist I might be more of a purest... but mine is only an "accessory" to a uniform display...

            Just my 10 cents worth....

Thanks for the reply's. I tend to go with my 30 second gut instinct when I first pick up an item. It just didnt have the right look, plus the rubber cement holding the cheesy eagle was a clue

The dagger was also messed with, as the scabbard was repainted. I notice a fresh finger print stuck in the new paint.

The Eagle is a cut-down ONB cap badge. It looks like the M and the holdings are original. The leather is new.

                        Greetings,

I don't think so. These pieces are widely reproduced. PaoloM
