Hello,
Picked this one up at a gun shop. Not marked or dated, which I guess is normal. I originally thought the strap was German, but looking at the marking I believe it is also Italian. I can't quite make out everything in the mark, but I believe it may show a date of 38. Were these strictly used by italians, or did German troops use them as well?

Italian made, RSI period (1943-45) but used also by the Germans. PaoloM

Thanks guys, I planned to sell it as I don't collect Italian but now I may keep it since it was used by Germans as well.
