I have all of the books listed previously discussed. As enorepap stated, ordering from the USSME can be difficult. When I need to get a book directly from the USSME, I have a friend in Roma stop by their office and pick it up.

Before ordering from the USSME, I recommend that you look at this book store in Milano, La Libreria Militare. They carry many of the USSME books as well a large range of other titles. I have ordered books from them for over 20 years: reliable and quick.

    [Libreria Militare]

The best source in English for the Italians at the El Alamein battle is (as enorepap stated) The Three battles of El Alamein by Montanari. It is a complete translation for the second half of vol III (El Alamein) of the Le operazioni in A.S. series. Unfortunately the document section at the end of the original volume was not translated and is omitted from this book.

    [Three Battles]

Tre anni di guerra in A.S. has a two introductions by the authors in Italian, all the pictures are captioned in both Italian and English, then a very short English abstract at the end.

    [Tre anni ]

Many of the Italian divisional histories are out-of -print and can be quite rare (translation = expensive). One place to look is the rare book section of La Libreria Militare. On the main page, left side, almost to the bottom is a link Libri rari e antichi (rare books and antiques). That link takes to another page that has the catalog which is well maintained. You can look through there to see what older books they have. The rare books is a separate company and uses a different procedure to order. If you find a book(s), you e-mail the owners with the catalog information and your address. They will e-mail back to state whether the book is still available, and if so, postage cost. Again very reliable and quick. I usually receive the book from Italy to the USA in about 10-14 days once I pay. Most of the books.

Thanks guys. It sounds rather complicated so I got in touch with the store in Milano for starters.
