Notice how the decals were put right over the rust that is on the helmet.You can see the rust has been covered up by the decal instead of the rust and the decal being there at the same time.

Italian SS never wore a tricolor shield and the one on the helmet can be purchased on ebay for a couple of bucks.

..98% of helmets never wore decals, and 2% found with painted runes are questionable and probably Vintage fakes .
