    M33 variant helmet

    Hello,

I saw the other post about the variant M33 helmet http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=756756 and I have one too like this. Even though as stated in other thread its made for air raid protection, fire police and other civic formations, I still dig it. My question is when would it have been used and in your opinions is paint good for the era?

    Thank you.

As previously said it is the M.33 'no vents' variation. Many specimen made, but it is not
known why not issued to the regular army. The one illustrated is good of the time, with original liner and paint.Easy to find a spare chin-strap to apply in.PaoloM

The helmet was used during all war period 41-43 by civic formations during rescue activities Under & after bombing in the city, probably also from some units of Milizia, and it seems after 1943 by some military units due to shortage of regular M33 helmet
