Decima MAS in Romania - Romanian serving aboard CB6

    Gents,

In the next few days I will be posting scans from the lot of a Romanian Submariner who was the commander of the Romanian/Italian CB fleet of mini subs during WW2, and served aboard CB 6 for almost 9 months, and also participated in the war actions alongside his DECIMA MAS comrades.

I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

    Alex

            Gents,

Thanks for understanding with the waiting period...

Tomorrow I will post some scans of the CB6 itself.

Now, to the man in question.

Lt Bucur was the Commander of the Romanian Second U-boot Fleet, composed of the CB subs left by the Italian allies after quiting the war.

First, his resume written in 1946, detailing his wartime service, including the German U-Boot School, the Romanian U-boots Rechinul and Marsuinul, and of course, he served aboard CB6 for almost 9 months.

Secondly, his Award doc for the Super Rare Romanian U-boot war badge, awarded for war actions aboard Rechinul and CB6, in December 1944.

And lastly for today, his award doc for the Romanian Navy Medal - The Maritime Virtue Medal, for war actions aboard the U-Boot.

Thanks for looking, and tomorrow you will see scans of the CB6 itself.

It is a great photo and a very interesting docuemnts. I knew that all the 4 CB survivors (there were 6 in the Black Sea at the beginning), after the Italian armistice of 8 September 1943, the CB had been "seized" by the Romanian government and grounded. Instead, this paper demonstrates that at least The CB 6 was used by the Romanian Navy!
