The insignia of engegneer, on M42 cap, has the flame turn in the wrong direction, is taken from an officer shoulder strap.

Maybe the stars wore to the neck but I do not see the holes.
The Sahariana comes from a soldier who did his imprisonment in India, perhaps during the captivity took off their attributes.
