    Italian Pith Helmet on estand

    Hello,

I was trying to find out more info on the Italian Pith helmet that's on the estand.

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=735891

I don't know much about these, but the ones I always saw had the Italian cockade on it. And why this one don't have it.

I am not trying to dispute anything, just trying to learn.

    Thanks.

generally speaking : cockades on italian piths weren't an obligation , tons of different variations with those piths included models without cockade

The alpini badge its not a good ww2 one, its postwar!
Italian pith helmets with khaki inside lining are pw too imo!

        Cheers,
        Andrea.

Pith helmets with a khaki interior are just fine.
Pre-45 photo's exist confirming its use.

You mean a couple of pre 45 bad pics!
Maybe sun and use has faded the light green!
All the vets talking about a green lining from what i know..
Btw Its an old disccusion i know..Great for sellers!
To me the khaki are pw, but its just my opinion as well!

Italian pith helmets with kakhi interior did exist on ww2.
I found a couple of them directly from the families years ago.

The pith helmet is a WW2 item, but the insignia of Alpini is an M48 of postwar.

Clear pictures are known as well.
But this is not the point of this thread. Ardito sums it up correctly.
The offered example is not good as a whole.

                  Greetings,
