G.I.L Hat? I.D. Help Please!

Hello everyone,

I picked this hat up recently and I have been trying to find out what exactly it is. I know it has a G.I.L pin on the front of it, and I've been told by a few people it is likely for the female part of the G.I.L, but beyond that I haven't found much information. If anyone could help me I.D. this, that would be great!

Female G.I.L. (youth movement) wore black berets or black side caps (overseas caps) = 1st color plate
The Gil pin was probably added...

The female members the "Donna Fascista" of P.N.F. (Fascist party) wore black cappotto (Fedora style hat) or black side caps.
= 2nd color plate. Note sure on the "rank" insignia though...
If real I would say Facist party female member hat...or something civilian dolled up with Fascist insignia...who knows?
but maybe the Italian members will chime in with more info!

Color plates from this book btw! A great reference to own! so I am plugging it again ! (picked up while on a trip to Italy)
