    Italian Helmet Covers, Tunisia, 3-31-43

    http://cdn.theatlantic.com/static/in...9_30331198.jpg

I don't know if this foto will go through, but it's captioned 'Italian Light Gunners in a Cactus Field, Tunisia March 31st, 1943.
It shows Italian soldiers wearing their winter long coats and what appear to be field expedient helmet covers held on by wire.

      Camerati,
I have made one of these, I used string to attach local terrain specific materials to improve individual camouflage, it looks just like these.

The Men at arms series book has art work using your image as a base for the helmet cover .

They didn't use hessian sack cloth but simple greysh-sand cotton. The differences are evident by the photo.PaoloM
