    Desert cammo m33

Please give your opinion on this helmet as in what you make of the hand painted designs and the cammo in a desert type finish.Would you say period done or someones project post war?If the designs are good would they be for any particular unit ?They are painted on both sides. The name inside is also difficult to make out
    Thanks

According to pictures and what they show it would be of course an helmet used in the spanish civil war but it would be, at the very same time, a nice conversation piece considering the palm stencils which seems , imho, era painted...
Please can we see what is there written on the paper tag on the inside?

              Indications for SCW used m33:
Remnants of typical brown Spanish paint.
First model rivets with small hole
Low serial number, mid years 30 production.

To me neither the palm nore the writing inside (Sidi Barani? ;-)) are period painted. The paint used for these looks to brilliant to be some ~ 80 years old.

Could this be a Spanish issued one used in Algeria ?

don't think so, even because as far as I know Italians didn't fought in algeria or at least not in the western part of it.

Algeria never used Italian m33 helmets.

What they used were Bulgarian m51, a copy of the Italian m33.
But this has nothing to do with this pre ww2 Spanish used m33 in this thread.

As for Algerian m51s, I allow myself to post a picture from Paolo's book.
I hope you don't mind Paolo...

Interesting helmet but I don't think the palm tree to be period.
