Italian M33 Helmet Question

Hello,

I've had a WWII Italian M33 helmet for many years. The shell is painted gray-green inside and out. The finish is thin and there's considerable rust on the inside. The helmet has a code at the rear inside rim, which seems to say I 84. What does this mean?

Hello letter identifies the manufacturer of the helmet while the number identifies the production batch. The letter 'I' and 'rare. Hello.

Would anyone care to hazard a guess as to the manufacturer and year of production?

I believe the helmet to date from the war years or before. The chin straps are secured to the bales by two rivets each and are made of gray-green leather.

In my opinion the shell and 'was produced in the 30's. As said the letter I is rarely found on the helmets, index of a very limited manufacture of helmets by the manufacturer "I".
