    Italian M33 Helmet opinions.

    Just got this Italian M33 Helmet and wanted your opinion on it. WW2? Spanish Civil War?

    Postwar.
    Trapezoidal chinstrap hangers, large cloth chinstrap, large Z rear stitching.

            Would there be a reason why this one doesn't have the large Z stitching on the rear?

              Z stitching being only postwar is a big myth.
              Wartime helmets used Z and = stitching across the seam . The = was the earlier. The Z was wartime and postwar.

              Maybe large Z is only postwar but Z type was used both.

              Your photos of the stitch area are not clear , to me it looks like an inline stitching.

                I would like to add that post war helmets can be complete wartime helmets refurbished with only paint, or a mix of wartime and postwar components ie, rivets liners chinstraps or total postwar construction. I believe the m33 was used by the italian armed forces until 1989.

                I believe yours may be a total postwar built helmet.
