    Anyone see these shoulder boards before?

    Have any of you seen shoulder boards like these before? I don't remember if I ever saw these on a uniform in pictures.

        Hallo Johnz

        These are the special shoulder straps, made of black cloth, piped with the characteristic Arm-of-Service colors (in this case, red for Infantry) and bearing the badges embroidered in gold in the center, for the grey-green full dress uniform M34 of the warrant officers.

        They were trimmed around the perimeter by a woven cord in the shape of Savoy knots:

        - blue striped gold for warrant officer 1st class (maresciallo ordinario);
        - gold striped blue for warrant officer 2nd class (maresciallo capo);
        - gold for warrant officer 3rd class (maresciallo maggiore);
        - gold with a loop around the button for aides-warrant officer (aiutante di battaglia).
