I would hang on to it. It's cool in it's own right.

Not an Italian para issue smock, nor an Italian issue camo garnment.
Probably a German WWII clothing made with an Italian M.29 camo cloth.

Inside out camo tailored garments are not unusual. It gives the camo a more subdued look, less of a sharper edge...like water pattern camo.
Italian M29 camo was indeed tailored like this (on purpose) on occasion, but also Hungarian camo! Note example in link!

A WAF sponser Scottish dealer is offering this double breasted WH mountain wind jacket executed in hungarian camo (from a Hungarian poncho) but stitched in reverse print to give it a more "subdued" look. Pretty neat I think!

Hard to tell when your smock was made but the 45 tag would lead me to believe its a factory garment, not field made...so perhaps commercial afterall...so more like a protective garment, an apron as it lacks pockets...Agreed!
On the other hand it looks like a jumpsmock (in length) or field division smock . Even the italian zelt buttons were recycled/retained.
Hard to prove if its pre or post 45 but I like it! Should look great on a German mannequin! Nice touch the polka dot "LW" scarf!
