I might have found a reference and image for these red "Partisan" collar tabs!

Brigate Garibaldi "Divisione Valsesia"

AREA OF OPERATION: (Valsesia Region)
La zona operativa "Valsesia" del Corpo volontari della libertà, avente competenza anche per l'Ossola e il Cusio, era diretta da un Comando zona alle cui dipendenze operavano le brigate "Garibaldi" (e relativi reparti dipendenti) inquadrate in due divisioni.
Le formazioni garibaldine erano così strutturate: le squadre erano composte da dieci-quindici uomini; tre squadre formavano un distaccamento, tre distaccamenti un battaglione, tre battaglioni costituivano una brigata, tre brigate formavano una divisione.Qui di seguito pubblichiamo l'elenco delle divisioni e brigate e dei relativi comandi.[2][3]

Mostrine della "Divisione Valsesia" (Valsesia Region Divisional collar tab =see picture!) Nate a fine agosto del 1944, vennero ordinate in 15.000 pezzi ad una ditta di Milano da Vincenzo Moscatelli tramite il fratello di Eraldo Gastone, rispettivamente comandante e commissario politico del raggruppamento Divisioni Valsesia, Ossola, Cusio e Verbano. La ditta rispose che non si sentiva sicura a produrle temendo per l'incolumità dei propri operai, poiché il rischio di ritorsione nazista era troppo alto.
Si pensò quindi di aggirare l'ostacolo facendole simili a quelle degli Alpenjager tedeschi: differenti solo per avere sullo stelo una fogliolina in più e una più corta, e il polline, al centro, non dorato. Se si fosse verificato un controllo, l'azienda avrebbe potuto far passare l'ordinazione per una richiesta della Wehrmacht. I garibaldini della Valsesia e dell'Ossola ebbero così le loro mostrine.[6]

So now I need to find edelweiss insignia to restore these partisan collar tabs, which I found in the pockets of the Sahariana!
They used captured full size GJ cap edelweiss insignia ...and smaller types of WW1 Austrian (Landeschutzen GebigsSchutzen) vintage as well!

Update:
I contacted the seller about finding the tabs in the pocket and he said also 2 Edelweiss insignia were found loose...
but because he did not realise it's an Italian Partisan tunic, the edelweiss set got sold to another collector
Hoping now these can still be tracked down! He remembered they were marked "F&B" ....standard German cap edelwiess,
which were also used (after capture). These partisans were fighting/hiding in the mountains (hit and run ambush attack strategy)

wrote, an jacket of an officer partisan of the "blue" units
(not communist) is interesting to see as has been totally
reworked by an italian jacket to obtain with a cut of tailoring
an british battle dress, with two reinforcements on shoulders
boards of cotton velvet; inside is visible the low pockets close.

Partisan used gear with pedigree must be impossible to find!

Here's an update on my project!
The Garibaldi Red partisan tabs now shown with captured "trophy" GJ edelweiss as was often used.... before they secured their own types...

The next image is another pattern edelweiss that was used by Garibaldi troops (surplus or WW1 captured) = ww1 vintage Austrian style...Many WW1 vintage insignia at the time still floating around in the Austrian-Italian region no doubt, so also available for partisan use!

Also reportedly an Italian made copy was manufactured with slightly different stem than the German one but very close...it does lack the golden center....all silver!

The story on these period made copies is the following (from the web reference Wickipedia)

English: Insignia of partisan divisions and Valsesia Ossola. at the end of August '44, ordered by number of 15,000 to a firm in Milan "Moscatelli" by the brother of a partisan from Valsesia. The company said it did not feel safe for all its workers and that the risk was too much. It was thought to turn the barrier making them similar to those that alpenjager Germans. Just to have a different leaf and more dots in the center, not gold. If they had checked it could pass for an order of the Wehrmacht. Thus, all the partisans of the Valsesia and Ossola had their badges.
