    Italian WWII Navy Helmet

I just picked up this World War II Italian Navy helmet from the daughter of an American WWII Navy veteran. She told me that her father was assigned to a captured Navy base in Italy during the war, which is where I assume he picked up this helmet. I know very little about Italian World War II helmets. I would appreciate any information about this helmet and would like to know its value. Also, I am wondering if the number - 73899 - written twice in the liner has any meaning. Also, "Germinias" is written in the liner. Is this a location or the name of the soldier? Looking forward to what everyone has to say.

Couldn't the number be some sort of ID for the wearer of the helmet?

Very nice pick up I would guess $300 - $500 or so . Should be a lot more but Italian helmet collectors prefer their Camos and Stencilled helmets . Rob

"six italians, dressed in rather unusual diving suits and equipped with materials of laughably little cost have swung the military balance of power in the Mediterranean in favour of the Axis".

Regardless of value this is a great helmet that I wouldn't mind owning. Congrats Barry
