    Unknown badge...Italian? R3A with eagle

A buddy of mine picked this piece up and asked for help to I.D.

    Only have the one picture.

Very well made badge appears to be made from zinc.
Has typical European style safety pin to reverse. No markings.

Has the letters R 3 A to bottom of badge.

I'm thinking it might be Italian, but after sever hours of research I can't find anything even close to matching this piece.

    Many thanks,
    Howard

    Howard,
I'd say it's definately NOT Italian.......My 1st instinct says "French Colonial or similiar Mid-East, possibly N. African origins....the "wreath" looks alot like the Nation style of Jordan...I'll post a picture to show you what I mean....

WOW....the pictures came out "BIG".....sorry! But you can see the similarities to the wreath.

Hat is ex-American WW 2/1950s parts- No later than late 1950s/early 60s JORDAINIAN FIELD GRADE ARMY OFFICERs TAN TOP VISOR- note bullion on visor.
(ID based on "educated guess"- of course.) If I'm way off please let me know!

Thanks for your input. Yes the wreath does match closer than other items I've viewed. Great visor hat! Thanks for helping.
