A buddy of mine picked this watch up and asked if id post it here on waf to get some info on it.The face is chipped its missing its crown but the detail in the eagle on the face is super!, the sides are all engraved with dates, the back is also engraved with a unit number.Has anybody ever seen a watch like this, were they gifts from the king?The quality and the movment are very nice!Thanks for any help we can get.

I think the dates are years of serice, maybe he went in 12-30 59 1859 the last date is 9-17 1912.Comment

very nice and rare (never seen before) pocket watch imho presented at an high officer after the war
Italo-Turkish or Turco-Italian War (also known in Italy as the Guerra di Libia, "Libyan war", and in
Turkey as the Trablusgarp Savaşı, "Tripolitan war") was fought between the Ottoman Empire and
the Kingdom of Italy from September 29, 1911 to October 18, 1912.
On reverse you can see F34 (Infantry 34th) the first landing on the island of Rhodes actually
Greece) took place on May 4, when 8,000 men (34th and 57th Infantry Regiment, 4th Regiment
Bersaglieri; Yes I think the dates are years of the first service, maybe he went in 12-30 59 1859
the last date is finish of the war 9-17 1912 (maybe an error of one day) the date and date numbers
and location and regiments/dates/battles.

Thanks for the help on the watch, its a shame it has the damage to the face but i think the crown can be found and im sure it would work. I figured it was a retirement gift? The man was in for over 50 years maybe a general?To bad its not named but from what i was told there may be medals from the man and a ww1 luger comeing from the same estate soon.
