Please help in ID this tunic to regiment and campaign ie ABYSSINIA or Libya.

Nice tunic of the Libyan WWII campaign of the Trento Division :Infantry Regiments 61st and 62nd with attached the 7th Bersaglieri and the 46th Sicilia Arty Regiment.PaoloM

I would inspect carefully the stitching and the fading of the (and also under) arm shield and collar patches. The red shields for the motorized and A.S.I. divisions were introduced with circular order 329 of 05.25.1938, but they were immediately abolished at the beginning of the war (even if sporadically used for a long time by some individuals as we can see from a lot of period images, for example during the West Alps campaign); with regards to the collar patches, they were used (in silk or wool fabric) for a long time after the war period (also in plastic materials). Since 1975 a new metal pattern was introduced (always in the same colours) for the 62nd motorized battalion "Sicilia".

When the collar tabs and shields are matching this would be a very great tunic! Actionoke, have you checked the stitchings or the borders under the effects?
I have a portrait photo of a soldier in Bengasi in 1935 or 193 which such a metallic shiels. I think the Trento division was not a A.S.I. division.

With regards to WW2, the motorized division Trento (102nd) was transferred from Piedmont to the ASI (Italian North Africa) on March 1941 and was transformed in a motorized division ASI type on July 1941. After twenty months of heavy fightings it was destroyed at Bir el Abd on 11.04.1942 and consequently disappeared from the italian OoB on 11.25.1942.
